BEHIND THE ADVENTURE
The Real Places That Inspired the George Ryan Series
Where History Meets Fiction
Every George Ryan novel is inspired by real places, ancient mysteries and remarkable stories
I travel to the locations featured throughout the series, walking the landscapes, exploring ancient monuments, speaking with the local people, and uncovering the history that brings each adventure to life.
Most of the characters are fictional.
All of the places are absolutely real.

From My Camera
Most of the photographs on this site were taken during my research travels. They capture the landscapes, archaeological sites, communities, and small details that help bring the settings of my novels to life.
Whenever possible, I travel outside the traditional tourist season, when historic sites are quieter and the surrounding landscape can be experienced without the crowds. It gives me the opportunity to slow down, explore more carefully, and better understand the atmosphere of each place.
These are real places and real people, photographed as I encountered them. Some locations eventually appear in the novels, while others simply provide inspiration for the characters, mysteries, and journeys still to come.
This is where the research becomes personal, where curiosity takes over, and where the stories begin.
The Next Adventure
Research never really ends. Every journey creates another story. Every discovery leads to another question. A fragment of history, an unfamiliar landscape, or a conversation with someone along the way can provide the first spark of a new mystery.
Some ideas find their place immediately, while others remain in notebooks and photographs until the right story emerges. And somewhere, beyond the next road, ruin, or distant shoreline, George Ryan’s next adventure is already waiting.
